I can honestly say that because of my pets, I have grown substantially as a person, and as a soul, and because of their love and influence on me, I have embarked on a mission/quest to find "the truth" about the afterlife. They led me to new heights of knowledge and they have been The Higher Power's instrument in my lifetime to get me to this point.
Yes, your pets do live on in the next world and await your happy reunion. The happiest point in my life will be at my death when I am reunited with my "kids".
