Hello Renee,You wrote, since spirits are energy, then we can communicate with them using our thoughts. Let me correct a conception you have first. We do think of those in the afterlife as energy, but that’s because we don’t have another way of having our minds comprehend that someone is no longer material. The alternative is energy, so people do talk about spirits as though they were like the sun streaming through the clouds, with no apparent substance. However, that’s not really correct. First, we’re energy. When you peer down into the subatomic realm, you discover that all matter is likely electromagnetic energy. It’s been described in one theory as loops and threads of energy vibrating at different frequencies, creating what we regard as matter and energy. At the deepest, fundamental level, we are beings of light. That’s physics, not metaphysics. Second, those on the next planes of life describe themselves as vibrating at a different level from us on the Earth plane, but they are completely solid and substantial, just as we feel ourselves to be on the Earth plane. They have bodies and clothes. They have streams, meadows, flowers, wildlife, mountains, and all the other things we’re accustomed to on Earth. As they describe it, their world is just the same as the Earth world, but without the negatives, such as cold and oppressive heat, mosquitoes and ticks, and so on. Their world is as substantial and real as our world. Now, as to whether they communicate telepathically or mentally, yes they do. They have the option of using voice, but after they’ve separated themselves from the Earth plane, don’t prefer to. On our Earth plane, the mental or thinking level of communication is drowned out by the strong insistent physical noise. We’re accustomed to speaking or writing, so we don’t cultivate communicating telepathically, through thought. But that ability is available to us. Those on the next plane of life have left the Earth plane, so they’re not bound by its conventions and not consumed by its noise. They know each other’s thoughts and communicate by thought. That doesn’t necessarily mean in words. It means in impressions—what is in the mind before the words are formed. They also know our thoughts because they register them without constraints. And when we think of them, wherever they are on the next planes of life, since we matter to them, they register our thoughts. It we’re distressed, they will know that and come to us on the Earth plane. We can’t see them, but they’re there to comfort and help. They work to impress us on the thought level to help us. These impressions are most often those thoughts and feelings that are previous to language. And so, when we’re distressed, we may suddenly think of them and feel warmth and love. That’s them communicating with us at the deep, mental, spiritual level. The problem is that we dismiss that communication and keep going back to the Earth plane worries and discomforts. We want things in words because that’s the way we communicate. And so we often will miss the wonderful feelings they communicate to us. Yes, those on the next plane of life know our thoughts and feel the love and warmth we send to them. Do speak in words to them because that’s the way we communicate. But they know what we’re feeling and thinking before we say the words. The words are for our benefit, not theirs. Don’t feel self-conscious about speaking to them. The words aren’t important, but the fact that you’re taking the time to voice your feelings is important. Then relax and allow yourself to receive their response. It will be in feelings of warmth and love. It may be in sudden inspirations or insights or solutions to problems. They’re coming from them. If you feel or think something negative, that’s your Earthly self intruding. It isn’t from them. Everything from them is positive and loving. Oh yes, keep speaking to them. Then feel their responses. Love and peace, Craig
