Long-time-no-post.Anyway, I don't think I've ever asked you about this one, nor do I remember seeing you address it specifically, but it's the verse most cited (maybe the only verse cited) by Christians who believe that contacting the dead or contact from the dead is impossible, and that therefore any "communications" are Ye Olde Demonic Tricks.
From the Young's Literal Translation:
26 and besides all these things, between us and you a great chasm is fixed, so that they who are willing to go over from hence unto you are not able, nor do they from thence to us pass through.
What's the scholarly commentary on this?
Are there any translational issues?
