Hello, I figured I'd post this, as it's something that's had me worried for a while. I found a website a while back claiming to follow "only Jesus". It's run by this guy who took his bible, and threw out everything except the gospels. He basically bases his entire teaching on two similer sayings of Jesus. Luke 17:33 and John 12:25.

Luke:
Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

John:
He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

The jist of that guy's site is, if you don't believe in Jesus, and hate your life, and not seek to ever save it if you're in trouble, to the point of being miserable in this world, you will be annihilated by god in the after-life. He also says the only reason the earth was created, was so that god could send Jesus, and thus "show us to way" to become sons of god and not be annihilated. Which is by doing the things above. These demands are beyond unreasonable, but I am so afraid of it. I could never worship a god that promised to ether throw in hell, or annihilate all non Christians/followers of Jesus.
