I read the article. These sound like the crass rock, head-banging music young people are listening to today. They're not actually classical binaural beats.

In any event, bilateral stimulation is quite different. It's used in a calm atmosphere, with soothing meditation music, and alternating volume in the ears so that one ear hears the music slightly louder while the other is softer, and then the two gradually, smoothly exchange higher and lower volume. The bilateral stimulation is not at all like what they're describing in the article, although what it describes does illustrate that music and the listener's intentions or state of awareness do affect the mind.
