Hi Rezende,

You asked, "What is there our physical world (or brains_if you wish) for?"

We're growing in spirit. We're learning to be more loving, compassionate, and other-centered. That kind of learning has to happen through experiences and discoveries. On the Earth plane, we begin as newborns who can't see a difference between our mother's self and our self. We gradually grow to realize we're really different selves. Then we go through the rebellious stages in which we break ties with parents and set out on our own. Eventually, we discover whom we are and start to forge ahead in life as an independent young adult.

All of those changes happen through a gradual process. We learn to go from a newborn to a young adult through experiences and discoveries.

We learn to be more loving, compassionate, and other-centered in the same way. It has to be by meeting challenges, being shaken out of our normal lives so we rethink whom we are. If we aren't challenged, we will never learn. The Earth plane is the plane of challenges, disappointments, failures, successes, loves, losses, and all the other negative and positive experiences. As we go through the experiences, we grow to be more loving, compassionate, and other-centered.

So while we're in the physical realm, we need to feel like everything has a reason. It isn't all "made up." We can't think this is all scenery and it's just make believe. If we think that, we'll just give up when the challenges come and hit the reset button or say, "This is too painful. I quit."

As a result, we know that the universe seems to run by itself, and was created in a big bang. We can look out into the farthest reaches of the universe and not see an end. We can look into the smallest particles of matter and never see the final building block. We can see evolution as a cause for the world.

Everything has a cause. If I see someone in a room, I know she walked into the room. She didn't appear there magically. If things happened by magic, we'd think this is all just a sham, a play, and we don't need to take it seriously. So we don't just appear in a room. Everything has a cause and a history.

We have to have a place in the body that we can say is the seat of thoughts and feelings. So the body has a brain. It's just a place in the physical realm that is set up to appear that it holds the mind. But we know the mind isn't in the brain. You've read my book. You know that's true. The mind, outside of the brain, thinks a thought and then tells the body about it. The brain gets involved after the mind and body have already communicated. That's why someone can react to a picture six or seven seconds before it's shown. The reaction is in the body. The mind outside of the body tells the body about it before the brain can even get involved. Then, when the picture is available, the mind outside the brain tells the brain to light up with energy.

The brain is just a part of the simulation that is Earth school. And when the brain stops functioning, we continue just as we were before it stopped, seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, and smelling exactly as we did with a body, because the brain and body are just the vehicles or avatars we use in Earth school.

Some prefer to say the brain is the receiving station, like a TV, that gets the signal from the mind and then actually functions. OK, but that doesn't explain how the mind communicates with the body before the brain is involved and gets the body moving. But it's still a better explanation than thinking the brain somehow makes any thinking or feeling all by itself.

Love and peace, Craig
