You asked about the fact that our loved ones are busy with their news lives, but earthbound people are preoccupied with the Earth plane.

You asked, "On one hand our loved ones can do what they wish they could have done on earth, but on the other hand earthbound spirits can't experience what they want to experience? Or is it that earthbound spirits simply bound until they move on?"

Yes, it's all the state of mind. Those who remain earthbound have free will, just as we all do. We determine what will happen to us and where we go. The earthbound spirits simply want to stay close to the earth plane because of the jollies they get, or because of unfinished business they can't let go of. They are free to leave when they're ready, though.

It's exactly like an alcoholic or an drug addict. They may say the want to stop using, and they may protest that they could any time they wanted to, but just don't want to. They have the free will to do that. But the psychological or physical urges are such that they won't do it.

In the same way, a person who wants the thrill of experiencing someone saying cruel, insensitive things to someone else may not be willing to leave the earth plane where he can watch that happen and even influence it by focusing his thoughts on a cruel, insensitive person still in a body. The thought of never doing that again makes him anxious and unhappy. So he sticks around the Earth plane.

But he could leave any time he wanted to.
