I recently had a lucid experience which might give some insight about terminal lucidity, or just lucidity in general. After a wedding party,as I laid down to sleep, happy and feeling groggy from the beer, instantly, I became sober, lucid . The dark room became brighter, with crisp, clear details. I no longer felt tired I closed my eyes, and was entertained by wonderous sights, a subline experience of bliss beyond description...From drunk and stupid, to lucid and bliss-full instantly....Whuts up? : I recently heard about a phenomenon called 'Terminal Lucidity', that I thought I'd share here. : There are people who have severe dementia who can't even remember the names and faces of their family members. They might not be able to find words, or hold a proper conversation. : Sometimes, as their death approaches, these people enter a lucid state where they're able to remember everything. They can hold a conversation - it's like they don't have dementia at all. : The thing is, the brain damage 'supposedly' responsible for their dementia is still very much there during this period of lucidity, yet for all intensive purposes they behave as if they had no brain damage at all. : Yet another piece of evidence that suggests mind is separate from the brain.
